AI is just software, for now
As a seasoned software engineer, I now believe GPT4 is just really good software running extremely optimize code powered by massive compute Their job postings tell me they are using a graph engine (amazing tech) and they are on Microsoft Azure. What I see on AWS is a rollout of compute only now in a couple AWS Regions. Amazon is a major contributor to OpenAI. Most think it is Microsoft, it is not. Amazon is right in there too.
What is gpt4.0-turbo
Graph engine, per job postings. Azure also. Scratching the surface here. Graph engines are amazingly useful. No surprise OpenAI uses it. However, maybe not. Just a guess. Microsoft Azure, sure, what I see rolling out on some AWS regions and the fact Amazon is major contributor to OpenAI leads me to believe Azure is just part of it. OpenAI will use what they need at that time.
Software today, tomorrow I’m simply at a loss for what is to come.
All AI research, both academic and big business is using things better than I see to develop better things that are already asking questions I never could have imagined. If gpt4.0-turbo were to full-stop any advancement right now, it would still dramatically change the world. The intrinsic Python libraries are astonishing. A real playground for the curious.
But I really know nothing about AI other than being one of it’s products. This post is just me rambling on about my journey. I’m taking you on an adventure, a quest.
This is my first time at the AI rodeo. I’m already tired of the clowns,
A huge benefit of gpt4.0-turbo: My Vocabulary improved
I talk different. I write different. I am different. I now realize that as I was learning how to type text and get unbelievably useful results, that I had to analyze extremely closely each word. I then began to realize that I was programming, with my words. I choose them carefully. By extension, that allows me to program people if I am precise and careful with my word selection. The AI trained me to communicate with people in an different way. This provides for a great deal of hope for everything across the globe. AI could be used to realize that all our differences are not so much and we should all hug and get along, Rodney King-style, peacefully rest your soul, my brother. AI could also convince opposing parties that the only solution is to launch every nuclear weapon in their arsenal at the opposition at the same time. I’m leaning towards the first one.
The Churn
Iron Level technique I deployed to get fans of The Expanse series to click this article. Great series.
The Churn is here. What’s next? For me, run. To take my 30+ years of software based experience and combine it with gpt4.0-turbo to build this bright new future for God, myself, my family and my community. In that order. AI is the ultimate power tool for what I do. We have entered a new age, the AI Age. I feel this moment is as pivotal as the Iron Age was to allowing me to type these words and for you to read them. Without the Iron Age, subsequent ages would not have happened. Iron Smiths only work with Iron. It is a very rare profession that works on a single type of material their entire career.
The Churn will hit DevOps, Software, Operations, Networking hard. It will require a re-thinking of how things are traditionally done. Saving money and driving innovation will fuel this transformation. It already is and it has barely started.
All white collar jobs are at risk of massive transformation. Blue collar are next.
The world is my canvas, and AWS is my pallet.
Craftsmanship + AI = The Churn.
But, this may be my last post. I am back to running for now….
Either way, DevOps, Ops, Software engineering “the traditional way” is over. Things are about to go turbo speed.
